Associate Members are talented musicians who are committed to performing in Harmony for more than one season.
Kayden Bhatnagar
Viola
2025~
Kayden is currently a senior at Carlmont High School, and he has been playing viola since third grade. he has played in Carlmont's Symphony Orchestra for three years, Peninsula Youth Orchestra and Peninsula Young Artists for one year, and the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Summer Symphony for two years! He is the co-founder of the Senore Bridge String Quartet, and loves playing gigs and busking. Kayden likes hanging out with his friends, spending time outdoors, and eating in his free time.
Kai Bunger-Tang
Piano
2023~
Kai is a student at Palo Alto High School. He is an avid pianist with around 8 years of experience, and has been training under Celine Burnichon. His love for classical piano music (especially pieces by Chopin and Debussy) is what got him started on piano and is what continues to push him everyday to become a better pianist. Outside of music, Kai enjoys running, being out in nature, and hanging out with his two dogs.
Felix Chang

Felix is currently a student at Palo Alto High School, and is a student of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music pre-college. He is currently a member of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra and was the concertmaster of the 2023-24 Camerata Orchestra in the Golden State Youth Orchestra. He has played violin for around 8 years.

Darwin Collins

Darwin is a junior at Palo Alto High School. He started learning piano at age 4 and currently studies with Cheeyin Blume. Besides classical music, he’s passionate about jazz and plays piano in PALY’s jazz ensemble, where he loves mixing technique with improvisation. He also plays violin and enjoys exploring different styles of music. Outside of music, Darwin is part of PALY’s Speech and Debate Club. In his free time, he likes playing tennis and hanging out with friends.
Camille Chu
Harp
2025~
Camille has been playing the harp for ten years and is a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. Her summers have been filled with music, including performing with the National Youth Orchestra 2, Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Orchestra, and Stanford Summer Symphony. In her free time, she enjoys reading science fiction, baking, traveling, and listening to Mahler symphonies.
Jamie Cheung is a senior at Henry M. Gunn High School. He is currently studying viola with Madeline Prager at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division. As a student of the SFCM Pre-College, he received chamber music coaching from Pasha Sabouri, Zak Grafilo, Randy Fromme, and Otis Harriel. Since 2023, he has been a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and is now co-principal of the section. He was also selected as a violist for the California All-State High School Symphony Orchestra in 2025 and 2026, and served as principal in 2026.  Jamie won 1st Prize in the 2026 NCVS Young Violist’s Competition and 2025 United States International Music Competition, 2nd Prize in the 2025 ENKOR International Music Competition and the 2025 KAMSA Competition, and 3rd Prize in the Pacific Music Society Competition. He has also been invited to perform at the Junior Bach Festival Honors Concert in 2025 and 2026. Jamie is an active chamber musician, performing fundraiser concerts for community members with the Aeolian Piano Quartet, which he co-founded with fellow students. His hobbies include competing in science olympiad tournaments, instrumental conducting, and cross country running.
Josiah Duckworth

Josiah is a student at Palo Alto High School and he is currently participating in the Palo Alto High School Honors Chamber Orchestra. He currently studies cello under Davis You, a cellist in the San Francisco Symphony. Josiah has been playing cello for several years and enjoys music and ice skating.
Daphna Raveh Glassman
Viola
2025~
Violist Daphna Raveh Glassman, 17, studies with Professor Leo Plashinov at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College, where she is part of a string quartet. She joined the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra in the 2026–27 season. Daphna attended the Juilliard Summer Music Program, Music@Menlo, and Chamber Music Northwest. She participated in multiple Perlman Music Program residencies in Israel and the United States. During the 2025–26 season she was a member of the Cosmos String Quartet of YCM. Daphna was the principal violist of the Ra’anana Youth Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra until her move to the US in 2024. She currently serves as principal violist of the Homestead High School String, Chamber, and Symphony Orchestras. Daphna is a prizewinner of the 2026 Northern California Viola Society Young Violists Competition and has participated in masterclasses with renowned violists including Kim Kashkashian, Sam Rhodes, Carol Rodland, Matthew Lipman, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, Wenting Kang, and others. In her free time Daphna likes to read, listen to music, play with her dog, and sight-read with friends.
Noga Raveh Glassman
Flute
2025~
Flutist Noga Raveh Glassman, 15, studies with Professor Catherine Payne at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College, where she is part of a wind trio. She joined the California Youth Symphony Wind Symphony in the 2026–27 season.  In the summer of 2026, Noga attended the Greenwood Music Camp Senior Camp program, where she performed in multiple chamber ensembles and as principal flutist of the symphony orchestra.  Prior to moving to the US, Noga studied with Tomer Amrani, principal flute of the Israel Philharmonic. She is a three-time prize winner of the Ra’anana Music Conservatory Spring Competition. Noga was the principal flutist of the Ra’anana Youth Band.  In her free time, Noga enjoys hanging out with friends, crafting, and exploring new things.
Matthew Hong
Cello
2024~
Matthew J. Hong is a sixteen-year-old cellist from Palo Alto, California, currently attending Palo Alto High School and studying cello under the guidance of Jonathan Koh. He began his cello training at age eleven and has since participated in numerous competitions and programs. Most recently, he was awarded First Prize and the Ariel Witbeck Award for Best Overall Cellist at the Diablo Valley College Young Artist Competition, and won First Prize at the CalAsta San Francisco String Competition. He also placed first at the Kamsa Competition. Additionally, he has served as principal cellist of the California All-State Junior High String Orchestra, assistant principal of the California All-State High School Symphony Orchestra, and placed third at the United States International Music Competition. Matthew has been accepted into several summer music programs, including the Juilliard Summer Music Program, the New England Conservatory Summer Orchestra Institute, the Heifetz International Institute of Music, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. He was selected as a Solo Young Artist for the Encore Summer Academy and has been invited to perform twice with the DVC Philharmonic Orchestra. Outside of these opportunities, Matthew is a member of the California Youth Symphony under conductor Leo Eylar, and he is co-captain of the varsity swim team at Palo Alto High School.
Kavita Karmarkar

Kavita Karmarkar started playing the piano at the age of 10 and composing at the age of 12. Her favorite pieces are “The Lark” by Glinka and Tchaikovsky’s first piano concerto. She wrote her first waltz in August 2022. She studies with Tatiana Catanzaro, a professor of Music Composition at the University of Brazil São Paulo/Stanford.
Ivanka Kumar
Voice

Ivanka Kumar is a senior at Palo Alto High School and has been passionate about singing for the past nine years. She has performed in a wide range of settings, from Golden Gate Park and musical theatre productions to weddings and special events. Ivanka earned second place in both the National and International Vocal Competitions in Kyiv, highlighting her dedication and talent as a vocalist. Beyond music, she is a member of Paly's Speech and Debate team and finds inspiration through painting, literature, and pilates.​​​​​​​​​
Lucas Lai

Lucas is a junior at Palo Alto High School and has played cello for 4 years. He is part of Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra's Senior Orchestra and was previously the principal cellist of the Galbraith Honors Orchestra in the Golden State Youth Orchestra. Outside of music, Lucas loves playing basketball, writing for the school newspaper, and spending time with family and friends.
Ethan Lee

Ethan is a senior at Saratoga High. He's been playing bassoon for 5 years and currently studies under Dr. Yueh Chou. Besides Saratoga High’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, he's also a part of the California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra. He's participated in many honor ensembles, including the SCCBDA Honor Band, CBDA All-State Honor Band, and MFA Honor Band of America. He also serves as head drum major of the SHS Marching Band & Color Guard.
Hanting Liu
Clarinet

Hanting Liu, 17, Â is an avid musician and has played in various ensembles, foremost as a clarinet player. Born in China, he grew up in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Senior at Henry M. Gunn High School in which he plays in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Big Band, Symphony Orchestra, Gunn Sax Ensemble, and Triquetra Quartet, with which he was a two-time semi-finalist of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition - Junior Winds Division. Outside of school, he is a member of Magical Strings West and was a member of the Golden State Youth Orchestra. This summer, he was the concertmaster of the BUTI Young Artists Wind Ensemble for two concert cycles. He also is an executive director of a local music non-profit, Notes for All, with which he manages and directs over 150 musicians from across the bay area. He has been playing clarinet for almost 6 years and has been studying under Bruce Foster for 4 years.
Linda Liu

Linda is a junior at Palo Alto High School. She started learning piano at age 4 and formerly studied under Yvonne Wang. After achieving State Honors in CM Piano Level 10, she focused on her Instagram where she posts relatable and funny piano content, and gained over 10 million total views along with more than 5 thousand followers (@_ll.ind.a_). Aside from piano, she started learning cello at age 10 and taught herself electric guitar 2 years ago. In addition to music, she is captain of PALY’s Speech team and part of Track and Field. She also loves fashion, dancing, reading, and hanging out with friends.
Maryam Mohsin

Maryam is a 16 year old pianist and violinist. She has been playing piano since she was 7 years old, and always enjoyed listening to piano music, and music in general, she currently studies under Helen Hoa. Maryam also has been playing violin for the past 6 years and is currently in Palo Alto High School's Chamber Orchestra, she used to take lessons for violin under Elvin Hsieh.
Other than music, Maryam enjoys playing badminton, baking, traveling, listening to music, and sketching and studying fashion design.
Kevin Pei

Kevin is a 16-year-old violinist. He studies under Liana Bérubé and has been playing since he was 4. He is currently a member of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys reading, studying, and listening to music.
Neha Rajan

Neha Rajan is a current sophomore at Palo Alto High School and has been playing flute for around 4-5 years. She is a member of Palo Alto High School’s Wind Ensemble. Outside of music, Neha enjoys drawing, reading, and figure skating.
